Fall Centerpiece DIY

Title pic Fall Centerpiece

Fall is in the air here in Washington finally! The temperature is changing, the air is crisper at night, and the leaves are just starting to turn color, I love fall, especially late fall when things begin to freeze and you wake up and see the frost covered fields and plants and it’s magical. :)

Ok I’ll stop daydreaming now and get to my newest DIY!

Truthfully I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do! But this Fall Centerpiece made me fall in love (pun intended haha!) and it was so easy to make and very cost effective too! The most expensive thing was the glitter! Here’s everything all laid out waiting to be turned into a frugal work of art:

First Here is a list of what you’ll need, most of the linked quantities are large, so this could be a perfect group craft if you buy the supplies online!:

-5 pieces fake fruit, I did 3 apples and 2 pears

-2 fake grape bunches

-Fall colored flowers

-Candle stick of your picking (Here is a pretty glass one!)

-Charger plate

-2 colors of glitter, I picked Gold and Bronze!

-Hot glue gun

-Elmers or school glue

This whole thing took me maybe an hour to make, and that includes making the stand as well! The Stand is a plastic charger plate and a sturdy candle stick, and I adhered them together with hot glue.

I don’t have any pictures of me glittering the fruit, which you understand if you ever worked with glitter before it gets on EVERYTHING and I don’t think my hubby would appreciate his professional camera all sparkly 😉 But Here is the picture of them as they were drying, basically I used a disposable foam brush, brushed on the glue and dumped glitter all over until each piece was satisfactorily covered.

I was afraid I would have this hole on top of the fruit because It didn’t feel like I had enough fruit to stack, but then I remembered I had left over flower and leaves from another fall craft I did earlier and snagged those clippings, bound them together and they fit perfectly!

This actually turned out so well I’m brining it to my parents and grandparents house for Thanksgiving! You just can’t beat a craft that costs less then $20, works for 3 months for decoration AND is easily dismantled for storage. Oh and it can be used for years to come! :)

And just because I loved this piece so much here are a couple of detail close ups for you!

I would love to hear what kind of fall themed centerpieces you’ve made or what one’s are just dying to make but haven’t had a chance yet?
